Paul Andrew Ingle was born on 22 June 1972 in Scarborough, East Yorkshire. From the age of 9 boxing had been my life, and still is to this day. Afterall, who could turn his back on a career he has dedicated so much of his life to?
My amateur career began at the Scarborough Amateur Boxing club under the guidence of my trainer Tommy Johnson.
I quickly rose through the amateur ranks and after ---- fights i had earned the right to fight for 2 ABA Titles. I won them both and in 1991 became the ABA flyweight Champion.
The amateur fights were non-stop hard graft, and at that time my life consisted of 2 things, boxing and school, allthough i would always rather be in a gym than a classroom. "The gym was my school and Tommy was my teacher".
And then the call came..... i had been selected to represent my country in the 1992 Olpympic Games in Barcelona, all my hard work was starting to pay off.
